For CEOs

On March 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (PT), the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) will hold the first meeting of its Hospital Diversity Commission, which is comprised of representatives from health care, procurement, and other stakeholders.

The commission is required under Assembly Bill 962, a 2019 law that also requires a licensed hospital with operating expenses of $50 million or more, and a licensed hospital with operating expenses of $25 million or more that is part of a hospital system, to submit a report to OSHPD on its minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprise procurement efforts by July 1, 2021, and then updated it annually thereafter.

Next week, OSHPD will send letters to hospital CEOs asking for contact information for the person responsible for submitting the Hospital Supplier Diversity Report on behalf of the hospital. The letter will ask hospitals to submit their contacts to supplierdiversity@oshpd.ca.gov. OSHPD is currently in the process of developing additional instructions and reporting procedures for the initial report due on July 1, 2021.
