OIG Solicits Proposals for New Safe Harbors

The Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has issued its annual notice seeking proposals and recommendations for developing new, and modifying existing, safe harbor provisions under the federal anti-kickback statute. The notice also seeks proposals and recommendations for Special Fraud Alerts, which the OIG uses as guidance to health care providers about practices the OIG finds potentially fraudulent or abusive.
