New Tools Available to Help With IPFQR Data Collection, Submission

The Quality Reporting Center has released new and updated tools to help facilities collect and submit data for the Inpatient Psychiatric Facility Quality Reporting (IPFQR) Program’s fiscal year 2018 data submission period. Included in the documents is an updated IPFQR Program Manual, which provides an overview of the program’s measure specifications along with instructions for registering on the QualityNet Secure Portal. Also available are abstraction tools to assist with data collection, and detailed specifications about two measures —  Follow-Up After Hospitalization for Mental Illness, and 30-Day All-Cause Unplanned Readmission Following Psychiatric Hospitalization in an Inpatient Psychiatric Facility.

In addition, the Quality Reporting Center has released the fiscal year 2018 IPFQR Program Checklist to Review Measure Data Submission and Administrative Requirements, intended to assist with meeting the August data submission deadline and provides guidance on the QualityNet Secure Portal. Hospitals are reminded to complete and submit the hospital contact change form to ensure the correct contacts receive reminders to complete data submission as the deadline approaches.
