New Toolkit Supports HQI Goal to Improve Hospital Maternity Care
Webinar to showcase toolkit for hospitals and staff

The California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC), a strategic partner of the Hospital Quality Institute, has released an updated version of its obstetrics hemorrhage toolkit. Titled Improving Health Care Response to Obstetric Hemorrhage: Version 2.0, the updated toolkit includes format improvements, the addition of risk assessment parameters, clarification on blood replacement recommendations, and additional structure, process and outcome measures. The toolkit’s primary aim is to guide and support maternity care providers, clinical staff, hospitals and health care organizations to facilitate timely recognition and response to postpartum hemorrhage.

California hospitals are invited to participate in two educational webinars about the toolkit, scheduled for April 30 from 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m. (PT) and May 27 from 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m.

The toolkit can be downloaded upon completion of a brief registration survey, and includes care guidelines in addition to a slide set for professional education. For more information, visit the CMQCC website.
