New Graduate Nurse Transition Study Released

CHA has been working with the California Institute for Nursing & Health Care (CINHC) and the Center to Champion Nursing in America’s California Action Coalition on the New Graduate Nurse Transition to Practice Programs. The programs are making a difference in expanding a highly educated nurse workforce and enhancing employment opportunities for registered nurses.

According to a new CINHC study, the Transition to Practice Programs are helping nurses find employment faster and improving their hiring eligibility. The study shows that 79 percent of the nurses who participated in four pilot programs have secured jobs, compared to a 2011 CINCH study that reported 57 percent of survey respondents had secured positions.
