New Collaboration Seeks to Raise Awareness About Women’s Mental Health
Emphasizes importance of seeking treatment from health care providers

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. have partnered to create the Mental Health Across the Lifespan Initiative, which seeks to provide information to multiple populations including youth, older adults and women of childbearing age. Among the focuses of the initiative is an emphasis on postpartum depression, responding to a provision of the Affordable Care Act that called for increased support, education and research related to postpartum depression by the federal government. A press release and video with more information on the initiative can be found on the NIH website
