Marty Gallegos Moving to HASC

Marty Gallegos, CHA senior vice president and chief legislative advocate for the past decade, will become senior vice president for health policy and communications of the Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC) on July 22. Dr. Gallegos was a practicing doctor of chiropractic medicine, member of the California Assembly and executive at the California Department of Managed Health Care prior to becoming CHA’s top state lobbyist.

“Marty has held a leadership position in Sacramento for nearly two decades.  He has been a key member of the CHA executive team and has represented California hospitals in the Legislature with distinction and professionalism,” said CHA President/CEO C. Duane Dauner. Marty will be missed in the Capitol; however, he will continue to be an integral part of the four associations’ leadership. We thank Marty for his outstanding service and extend best wishes in his new assignment.”

Marty and his wife Rita live in the Los Angeles district he represented while he was a member of the California Assembly.

CHA will embark immediately on a search for a senior vice president/chief legislative advocate.  In the interim, existing advocacy staff and contract lobbyists will manage CHA’s advocacy and representation in Sacramento.
