Kaiser CEO Halvorson Announces 2013 Retirement

George Halvorson, chairman and CEO of Kaiser Permanente (KP) since 2002, has announced that he will retire in December 2013. Under Halvorson’s leadership, KP has grown to serve more than 9 million members, pioneered electronic health records, has become recognized as a national health care quality leader, and is seen as a model for the future of health care. “George Halvorson has been an outstanding leader who has influenced health care policy, financing and delivery in California and nationwide,” said CHA President/CEO C. Duane Dauner. “We congratulate him and express our appreciation for his great contributions to improve health and health care.”
