June 4 Rally is Almost Here
CHA, members to join historic health care event

Thousands of health care workers, physicians, dentists, hospital administrators, first-responders, insurers, elected leaders and others are coming together from across the state tomorrow to urge legislators to stop a $1 billion cut to Medi-Cal funding by voting in favor of two bills — SB 640 (Lara, D-Bell Gardens) and AB 900 (Alejo, D-Salinas).Activities will take place throughout the day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., including talking to legislators, leaving personal messages on a 60-foot “We Are Medi-Cal” wall and strolling down “We are Medi-Cal” Lane to learn about coalition members. Additionally, the rally will feature free health screenings, entertainment and inspiring speakers. The main program will take place from about 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Lunch will be provided to all who have registered, and plenty of water will be available. Hospital workers are encouraged to wear work clothes or scrubs, comfortable shoes, and to bring work badges. Attendees are welcome to carry banners and signs but should ensure that they are not attached to or held with sticks, which are strictly forbidden by Capitol police. Registrants will receive a confirmation email with additional information. For more information about logistics or travel, visit or call the We Care for California hotline at (916) 282-9040.
