January ‘Chief of Staff Boot Camp’ to Feature C. Duane Dauner as Keynote Speaker

CHA President and CEO C. Duane Dauner will be the featured speaker at an upcoming education program titled Chief of Staff Boot Camp, to be held Jan. 24-25 in Santa Monica. Designed to prepare hospital leaders for the challenges they face as the Affordable Care Act is implemented, the Boot Camp is free to CEOs from CHA member hospitals if they bring at least two physician leaders and/or board members from their hospital. CMOs and medical staff coordinators can also attend for free if they bring two physician leaders.

Program topics — created especially for medical staff leaders, hospital administrators and board members — include “Healthcare Trends: The Outlook for 2014 and Beyond;” “Emerging Roles for Physician Leaders;” “Alternatives to Employment to Align and Engage Your Medical Staff;” “ACA and Legal Updates;” “Quality Initiatives and Physician Coaching to Improve Performance;” and “Improving Reimbursement by Improving Patient Satisfaction,” among others. The Boot Camp also features “Prescription for Personal and Professional Success,” a program presented by Boot Camp organizer Susan Reynolds, MD, PhD.

Hospital administrators will receive up to 13.5 units of ACHE Category II continuing education credits through The Institute for Medical Leadership. Medical staff leaders will receive up to 14 AMA CME Category I continuing education credits through the Cooperative of American Physicians (CAP).
