Jan. 1 Will Be Effective Date for Final Regulations on 340B Drug Ceiling Prices

A new final rule impacting drug ceiling prices and civil monetary penalties for manufacturers will take effect Jan. 1, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced last week.

CHA previously submitted comments urging the department to move forward in implementing the rule, and is pleased that it is taking this crucial step to addressing rising prescription drug costs. HHS previously proposed delaying the rule’s effective date, but instead moved it up in response to a lawsuit brought by the American Hospital Association.
