HRSA Publishes Results of National Survey of Nurse Practitioners

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has released key findings from its 2012 National Sample Survey of Nurse Practitioners. Conducted in an effort to provide accurate national estimates of the nurse practitioner workforce and to profile their education, certification and practice patterns, the survey revealed an estimated 154,000 licensed nurse practitioners in the U.S., with 96 percent in clinical practice providing direct patient care. Other highlights from the survey can be found on the HRSA website.
