For CEOs and leaders in quality & patient safety, labor & delivery, and behavioral health

As part of its Perinatal Mental Health (PMH) Learning Community, the Hospital Quality Institute (HQI) will host a webinar from noon to 1 p.m. (PT) on April 16 to discuss the potentially exacerbating effects of COVID-19 on maternal mental health, and what hospitals can do to mitigate them. More information and registration are here.

Hospitals that have not yet signed up for the PMH Learning Community can still join this free two-year program aimed at strengthening approaches to mental health during the perinatal period. The program helps hospitals comply with a California law (Assembly Bill 3032, 2018). It took effect Jan. 1, 2020, and requires hospitals to educate perinatal employees about maternal mental health conditions and inform postpartum women and families about the signs and symptoms of maternal mental health disorders, post-hospital treatment options, and community resources.

Funded by California Health Care Foundation and free to all California birthing hospitals, the PMH Learning Community is a collaboration of HQI, Maternal Mental Health NOW, and CommonSpirit Health.

The PMH Learning Community features education, technical assistance, and peer exchange opportunities. To enroll, access new online resources developed for participating hospitals, view upcoming events, and review recordings of past events, visit the program website
