As part of its Perinatal Mental Health (PMH) Learning Community, the Hospital Quality Institute (HQI) will host a webinar from noon to 1 p.m. (PT) on June 18 to discuss best practices in educating staff and patients/families about perinatal mental health.  The webinar will feature hospital exemplars from Cedars Sinai Medical Center and Mercy Medical Center Redding.  Registration is free and availablehere.

Hospitals that have not yet signed up for the PMH Learning Community can still join this free two-year program aimed at strengthening approaches to mental health during the perinatal period.  Participation helps hospitals comply with Assembly Bill 3032 (2018) which took effect Jan. 1, 2020, and requires educating perinatal employees about maternal mental health conditions and informing postpartum women and families about the signs and symptoms of maternal mental health disorders, post-hospital treatment options, and community resources.
