Hospitals Will Receive Annual Snapshot Reports From CHPSO This Month
CHPSO to host webinar addressing overall trends

Each year, CHPSO mails member hospitals a snapshot of their activity with the patient safety organization for the year. Later this month, hospital CEOs and CHPSO contacts will receive feedback — addressing tone, thoroughness, trends and recommendations — on their submitted events. The report will also include a dashboard of hospital-specific information on events submitted in 2016, harm scores, top drug classes mentioned in submitted events, participation at safe tables and the number of newsletter subscribers. CHPSO’s 2016 Annual Report which covers Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2016, and focuses on CHPSO’s year in review as well as upcoming opportunities for 2017 — will also be included with the mailing.

A members-only webinar discussing the overall trends for 2016 will take place on May 26 at 11 a.m. (PT); registration is available online.

As a leading patient safety organization and a division of the Hospital Quality Institute, CHPSO is part of a movement for patient safety across the U.S. In the past year, CHPSO grew its membership to over 400 hospitals and health care organizations across 10 states and experienced a spike in submitted events, from over 160,000 in 2014 to over 1,100,000 in 2016.

CHPSO’s objectives are to eliminate preventable harm by sharing de-identified events with the health care community in lessons learned and newsletter articles; collaborating with providers to further understand why errors occur by separating individuals from the process; and developing a culture of safety.
