Hospital Employee Health and Safety Issues Explored in Seminar
Members-only program to feature practical methods to manage or mitigate workplace risk

Safety in the health care setting is vital not only for patients, but also for employees. CHA is planning a seminar that will explore how employee and patient safety practices can and should complement each other, as well as provide updates on key workplace issues. To be held March 24 in Glendale and April 2 in Sacramento, the program opens with an in-depth look into the process of creating a culture of safety, facilitated by a national quality and patient safety expert. Cal/OSHA representatives will provide a regulatory update and identify the most common safety compliance issues they encounter. In addition, safe patient handling experts and hospital representatives will share safe patient handling practices and offer insights on how to improve policies and procedures. The seminar will also include strategies for managing leaves of absence and reasonable accommodation.
