Hospital Associations Appeal for Funds to Support Employees Affected by Wildfires
Call to action: Affected hospital employees need your help

A total of 73,700 acres have burned in Lake, Napa and Sonoma counties due to the Valley Fire. While containment is approximately 40 percent, the fire has so far destroyed 585 homes, and three people have died. In Calaveras and Amador counties, where the Butte Fire has burned for more than a week, a total of 70,760 acres have been charred. The fire claimed the lives of two people and an unknown number of homes and businesses. Containment stands at 60 percent.

Many hospital employees’ homes have been affected, especially in the Valley Fire, where the entire town of Middletown was destroyed without warning. While the exact number of homes lost by hospital employees is unknown at this time, the estimate is upwards of 80. Adventist Health, impacted by the Valley Fire, reports that more than 230 of its employees have been displaced and approximately 63 have lost their homes.
