Health Policy Legislative Day Set for March 18-19

Hospital CEOs and government relations executives are encouraged to participate in Health Policy Legislative Day, CHA’s annual state advocacy program. After the education program during the morning of March 19, hospital executives will meet with Senators and Assemblymembers at the State Capitol.

CHA has invited the chairs of the Assembly and Senate Health Committees — Assemblymember Richard Pan, MD (D-Sacramento) and Senator Ed Hernandez, OD (D-West Covina), respectively — to address hospital executives during Wednesday’s education program. In addition to a discussion of CHA’s key legislative priorities, the program will detail CHA’s strategy for proposed ballot initiatives for 2014.

Attendees are invited to attend a Welcome Reception on Tuesday evening, March 18, to kick off the program and meet CHA’s Senior Vice President, State Relations and Advocacy, William J. Emmerson, DDS. Tuesday afternoon will feature a New Participant Briefing for members who would like to gain a better understanding of the legislative process and CHA’s advocacy processes, including how to approach legislators on topics of importance, as well as visit protocol, and a behind-the-scenes, VIP tour of the State Capitol.

The Sheraton Grand is the host hotel for the program, and discounted rooms are available. Make your reservations online or by calling (800) 325-3535. Be sure to mention the California Hospital Association to receive the discounted rate of $189 single/double occupancy.
