FEMA Recommends Preparing for El Niño Threat

This week, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) released the attached memo on the anticipated impacts of El Niño. Forecasts predict an enhanced flood threat and an increase in tornado activity through the spring; fact sheets on regional El Niño impacts are available online. Cal OES recommends that businesses evaluate their preparedness plans — which should address resource management, emergency response and crisis communications, among other items — to identify areas for improvement.
