EMTALA Web Seminar to Focus on Situation Analysis, Decision-Making Skills
Bring your teams together to refresh knowledge for just one connection fee

Whether hospitals are sending or receiving patients, they need to weigh several factors when facing an EMTALA situation. Understanding the patient’s medical condition, proper screening exams, and whether the hospital has capacity and capability are some of the more common — and least clear — issues for many hospital staff. CHA is planning a web seminar to help staff understand and analyze these and other EMTALA issues, to be held Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. – noon (PT). Case scenarios will be used as the principle teaching tool to promote thoughtful analysis of the important decision-making points.

Faculty for the program include M. Steven Lipton, JD, partner in the San Francisco law office of Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, P.C.; and Linda Brim, BSN, RN, nurse consultant, surveyor and EMTALA lead at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Region IX.
