Discharge, Encounter Data Must Be Reported Using ICD-10 Codes

With the conversion to ICD-10 that began Oct. 1, the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) has changed its reporting criteria to ICD-10. All discharge and encounter data with a discharge or service date on or after Oct. 1, 2015, must be reported using ICD-10. OSHPD will flag ICD-9 codes as invalid when used on records with discharges on or after Oct. 1. The attached OSHPD QuickNotes includes ICD-10 FAQs.
