Disaster Planning Conference Registration Now Open

Registration is now open for CHA’s 2015 Disaster Planning for California Hospitals conference, scheduled for Sept. 28 – 30 in Sacramento. The 10th annual conference brings together hospital emergency preparedness staff with community responders and officials from state and local agencies to share resources and best practices that ensure continuity of care when faced with an emergency.

“Our conference theme, ‘Planning for today, tomorrow and beyond,’ reflects the need for hospitals to be prepared for existing and emerging threats 24/7,” said Cheri Hummel, CHA’s vice president, emergency management and facilities. “This year as we gather together to learn and share experiences, we also celebrate 10 years of hospitals committed to preparedness.”

The program will feature keynote speakers and 17 different breakout sessions, including member hospital presentations on lessons learned from actual events. The pre-conference workshop will focus on preparing for emerging infectious diseases and recent experiences with Ebola. A detailed agenda will be available in the coming weeks.
