DHCS Seeks Public Comment on Cal MediConnect Data Sharing Proposal

Yesterday, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) released recommendations for Cal MediConnect plans to share data and promote continuity of care when members transfer between plans. DHCS invites public comment on the recommendations, which are intended to clarify eligible members, which data elements should be shared between plans, the data sharing process and the implementation timeline. According to the department, these recommendations stem from ongoing efforts to strengthen the program, as well as a new requirement — created by DHCS and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services — to improve continuity as members transition between Cal MediConnect plans.
