DHCS Seeks Input on Drug Medi-Cal Organized System Waiver Implementation
Will host stakeholder meeting June 3

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has requested stakeholder input and participation in a meeting to discuss implementation of the Drug Medi-Cal Organized System waiver. When the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services approved the waiver on Aug. 13, 2015, it required DHCS to specify an integration approach by April 2016. DHCS’ proposal outlines continued integration of physical and behavioral health care for California’s beneficiaries, and ultimately seeks to improve health outcomes for patients with substance use disorders while reducing Medi-Cal costs. DHCS will convene a meeting to discuss this draft plan on June 3 from 1-3 p.m. (PT); information is available on the DHCS website
