DHCS to Host Behavioral Health Forum Oct. 2

The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will hold a Behavioral Health Forum Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., which participants may attend in Sacramento or join via webinar. The forum will provide key stakeholders and other interested parties with updates on critical policy and programmatic issues impacting public mental health and substance use disorder services (MHSUDS). The event is organized into five small forums — each focused on a specific set of priority issues:

  • Cost Effective and Simplified Fiscal Models Forum
  • Strengthen Specialty Mental Health and Drug Medi-Cal County Programs and Delivery Systems Forum
  • Coordinated and Integrated Systems of Care for MHSUDS and Medical Care Forum
  • Coordinated and Useful Data Collection, Utilization, and Evaluation of Outcomes Forum
  • Client and Family Member Forum

The event will explore a variety of high-priority issues, including the Katie A. Settlement and the Drug Medi-Cal Waiver; Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral and Treatment and Dispute Resolution; and Analysis of Substance Use Disorder Program and the Performance Outcomes Systems Workgroup. The forum includes a dedicated time period for clients, family members, community members and other interested stakeholders to provide direct feedback to DHCS. A complete agenda is attached. Additional meeting materials may be downloaded from the DHCS website.
