DHCS to Hold Webinar on 1115 Waiver Renewal Application This Week
Releases final draft application for public review and comment; will submit application to CMS by March 27

The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will conduct a webinar March 18 to review its final draft 1115 “Medi-Cal 2020” waiver renewal application, released today. The 1115 waiver renewal application is comprised of three core components: (1) shared savings with the federal government to be reinvested into the Medi-Cal program; (2) a set of delivery system transformation and alignment programs; and (3) a redesign of reimbursement methods for public hospital systems that is tied to providing care for the remaining uninsured. DHCS will submit the application to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services at the end of March. The webinar session will allow time for public comment, and DHCS will post meeting materials on its website in advance of the meeting. To register, visit
