DHCS to Convene Webinar on Whole Person Care Pilot Program
June 3 program to outline budget submission requirements of WPC application

The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will convene a webinar on June 3 from 11 a.m.-noon (PT) to outline the budget submission requirements of Whole Person Care (WPC) pilot program applications, required to be submitted to DHCS by July 1. Registration is available at https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/904043024448328194.

The WPC pilots — approved under California’s section 1115(a) demonstration waiver, titled “California’s Medi-Cal 2020 Demonstration” — are county-based and aim to provide coordinated care for vulnerable, high-utilizing Medicaid members. Their overarching goal is to integrate physical health, behavioral health and social services systems, and they seek to improve beneficiary health and well-being through more efficient and effective use of resources. WPC pilots may also choose to expand access to supportive housing options for these high-risk populations. The waiver renewal authorizes up to $1.5 billion in federal funding over the five-year program, and WPC pilot lead entities will provide the non-federal share. More information about the WPC pilot program is available at www.dhcs.ca.gov/services/Pages/WholePersonCarePilots.aspx.
