DHCS to Convene Webinar on Whole Person Care Pilot Program
June 3 program to outline budget submission requirements of WPC application

The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will convene a webinar on June 3 from 11 a.m.-noon (PT) to outline the budget submission requirements of Whole Person Care (WPC) pilot program applications, required to be submitted to DHCS by July 1. Registration is available at

The WPC pilots — approved under California’s section 1115(a) demonstration waiver, titled “California’s Medi-Cal 2020 Demonstration” — are county-based and aim to provide coordinated care for vulnerable, high-utilizing Medicaid members. Their overarching goal is to integrate physical health, behavioral health and social services systems, and they seek to improve beneficiary health and well-being through more efficient and effective use of resources. WPC pilots may also choose to expand access to supportive housing options for these high-risk populations. The waiver renewal authorizes up to $1.5 billion in federal funding over the five-year program, and WPC pilot lead entities will provide the non-federal share.
