DHCS Co-Hosts Training on Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will co-host a screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment (SBIRT) training tomorrow from 9 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. (PT). The training will focus on screening procedures to identify risk; Feedback, Listen and Understand Options Explored brief intervention concepts and principles; and referral to treatment for patients with serious alcohol use-related problems. Individuals who complete training are eligible to earn continuing medical education credits or continuing education credits. The SBIRT training is cosponsored by DHCS, the California HealthCare Foundation, Pacific Southwest Addiction Technology Transfer Center, UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs and Harbage Consulting.
