Department of Homeland Security Reports on Cybersecurity Progress
First in a series of monthly updates

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Infrastructure Protection has released its inaugural monthly update on implementation of Executive Order 13800, which is intended to improve the nation’s cybersecurity and capabilities in response to intensified cyber threats. The order consists of three sections — cybersecurity of federal networks, cybersecurity of critical infrastructure and cybersecurity for the nation — and seeks to secure federal networks, encourage industry collaboration, develop international coalitions and build a stronger cybersecurity workforce. A working group of representatives from across government agencies has been formed to implement the order’s work. Each month, DHS will issue a snapshot of the work underway along with highlights and milestones. More information is available at www.us-cert.gov/eo13800.
