Deadline Extended to Volunteer for ICD-10 End-to-End Testing in July

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced an extension of the deadline for providers to volunteer for its third round of end-to-end testing for ICD-10 coding with Medicare administrative contractors. The testing will take place from July 20-24, and providers now have until May 22 to submit an application to participate. CMS will select 850 providers nationwide, representing a broad cross-section of provider, claim and submitter types, including claims clearinghouses that submit claims for large numbers of providers. CMS will use the testing results to address identified issues prior to ICD-10 implementation and to create educational materials for providers and submitters. To volunteer as a testing submitter, hospitals should complete a volunteer form on their MAC website. For more information, see MLN Matters articles on ICD-10 FAQs and testing information.
