Data Submission Period for OQR Measures Approaching
Web-based measures to be submitted by Nov. 1

CHA reminds hospitals that the data submission for web-based outpatient quality reporting (OQR) measures ends Nov. 1 at 11:59 p.m. (PT). Data submitted for these measures should cover the reference period of Jan. 1, 2013 – Dec. 21, 2013. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued tips for submitting OP-22 (ED Patient Left Without Being Seen) and OP-26 (Hospital Outpatient Volume on Selected Outpatient Surgical Procedures). For OP-22, CMS directs hospitals to select calendar year (CY) 2015 from the drop-down menu and confirm the percentage value is correct prior to clicking “submit.” For OP-26, CMS instructs hospitals to enter data for each organ system based on the categories listed with the measure on QualityNet, and to enter “zero” for categories without a particular procedure, rather than leaving the field blank. The other measures to be submitted by Nov. 1 are OP-12 (The Ability for Providers with HIT to Receive Laboratory Data Electronically Directly into their ONC-Certified EHR System as Discrete Searchable Data), OP-17 (Tracking Clinical Results between Visits), and OP-25 (Safe Surgery Checklist Use). Hospitals with questions or concerns should contact the hospital OQR support contractor at (866) 800-8756 or https://cms-ocsq.custhelp.com.
