Covered California Introduces New Brand for ‘SHOP’
Rebrands as Covered California for Small Business

Covered California has announced that this week it will launch the first in a new set of campaigns to refresh the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) brand as “Covered California for Small Business.” Advertisements will run over a 10-week period in the Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco and Sacramento Business Journals, as well as in many regional Spanish publications throughout the state. Digital banners will also run on websites where small business owners seek content on related news, products and information.

Covered California for Small Business is intended to promote public awareness of Covered California’s products and to better tie the identity of the small business program to the Covered California brand. Covered California has indicated that, with the new name, it aims “to help SHOP to be more visible to the small business community as a quality, affordable option for employee health benefits.” The campaign will highlight budget control, choice options and tax credits.

Covered California anticipates this branding initiative will drive more interest from the small business community to Community Partners.

At its April 16 board meeting, Covered California reported the following SHOP enrollment data:

Current SHOP enrollment though March 1, 2015

Members — 15,644
Groups — 2,289
Certified Agents Who Have Sold SHOP — 1,100
