Covered California Announces Webinar Tomorrow on Quick Sort Protocol for Service Centers
Includes process for transferring potentially MAGI/non-MAGI Medi-Cal eligible individuals to their county of residence

Covered California will host a webinar tomorrow, Aug. 16, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. (PT) outlining the Covered California Service Center “quick sort transfer” protocol.  Through the protocol customers who call in to a Covered California service center and who are potentially eligible for Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) Medi-Cal, or non-MAGI Medi-Cal, will be transferred to their county via the county consortium for a final eligibility determination after a minimal amount of inquiry by Covered California. The protocol is intended to maximize the accuracy of each call processed through the Covered California service centers. The webinar will also discuss provisions of the draft Memorandum of Understanding — which governs the transfer protocol — between each of the three county consortia, the California Department of Health Care Services and Covered California.
