Congressional Action Program Set for April 10-13
Take California Message to Washington, D.C.

Plans are in the works for CHA’s federal advocacy program, the California Congressional Action Program (CCAP), April 10-13 in Washington, D.C.

“The debate over spending reductions and implementing health care reform is front and center this spring in D.C.,” said Anne O’Rourke, CHA senior vice president, federal relations. “This presents us with both opportunities and challenges to further shape health care policy. It is more important than ever to have a strong contingent of California hospitals in D.C. to meet with Congress.”

CCAP is held in conjunction with the American Hospital Association Annual Membership Meeting when hospital executives from throughout the country convene in the nation’s capital.

CHA events begin April 10 with a First-Time Attendee Orientation, followed by a California Team Meet & Greet Reception at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel, the host hotel for the California delegation.

The California Team Caucus meeting is set for April 11, before hospital executives head to the U.S. Capitol to meet with their congressional representatives.

At the request of CHA members, a dinner with the New York delegation has been added back into the program. The dinner will take place April 12, with meetings with congressional leaders continuing April 13.

More information and registration details will be posted on www.calhospital.org/ccap next week.
