The Compliance Team Approved as Rural Health Clinic Accrediting Organization

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced The Compliance Team as a national accrediting organization for rural health clinics, effective through July 18, 2018. For a rural health clinic to enter into an agreement with Medicare, it must either be certified by a state survey agency or demonstrate through accreditation by an approved national accrediting organization that it meets or exceeds all applicable Medicare conditions. The Compliance Team offers accreditation in 11 different health care sectors and has accredited providers in rural designated areas since 1998. The company increased its rural presence in 2006 when it received CMS deeming authority to accredit all Part B durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies providers.
