Under the Coordinated Care Initiative, SB 1036 (Chapter 45, Statutes of 2012) requires the departments to develop and test a universal assessment process for use in the in-home supportive services (IHSS), multipurpose senior services (MSSP) and community based adult services (CBAS) programs. SB 1036 also specifies that this process will build upon the existing IHSS uniform assessment process and the hourly task guidelines, as well as the existing MSSP and CBAS processes and assessment tools. Building on the first meeting of Sept.20, the upcoming meeting will focus on strengths and weaknesses of current IHSS, CBAS and MSSP assessments, and working together toward a universal assessment.
