CMS to Suppress HBIPS 4 and HBIPS 5 From IPF Quality Reporting Program

Due to a problem with the data submission portal, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced it will suppress collection and public reporting of two measures for the inpatient psychiatric facility (IPF) quality reporting program for fiscal year 2014. IPFs that have not already reported the measures, HBIPS 4 and HBIPS 5, may leave them blank without penalty. Those that have already reported will have their data suppressed. Participating facilities must submit all other measures by Aug. 23 to receive a full payment update in FY 2014. Questions about the data submission process should be directed to CMS contractor Telligen at (888) 961-6425 or IPF-PCHQRSupport@telligen.org.
