CMS Reports ICD-10 Claims Processing Normally

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has reported that claims submitted through the newly implemented International Classification of Diseases,10th Revision (ICD-10) have been processed normally. CMS will continue to monitor this transition, as Medicare claims take several days to be processed and, once processed, Medicare is legally obligated to wait two weeks before issuing payment. Medicaid claims can take up to 45 days to be submitted and processed by states. CMS will provide more information on the ICD-10 transition later this month.
