CMS Releases ICD-10 ‘Quick Start’ Guide

The attached guide from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) offers providers a visual tool for preparing for the transition to ICD-10. Health care professionals will be required to use ICD-10 codes for all services provided on or after Oct. 1. The CMS guide details five steps to take in preparation for ICD-10 compliance: 1) make a plan; 2) train staff; 3) update processes; 4) talk to vendors and health plans; and 5) test systems and processes.
