CMS Offers Overviews of Proposed Rulemaking on Quality Payment Program
Three separate sessions set for May 3, 4 & 10

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced three opportunities for the public to learn more about its recently released notice of proposed rulemaking, which would implement key provisions of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) through the unified framework of the Quality Payment Program. The first webinar, scheduled for 9-10 a.m. (PT) on May 3, will provide an overview of the Quality Payment Program proposed rule. The second webinar, to be held from 9-10 a.m. (PT) on May 4, will address the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System in the Quality Payment Program. On the MLN Connects® National Provider Call, scheduled for 11 a.m. – noon on May 10, CMS will provide a listening session on the streamlining of multiple quality programs into a new Quality Payment Program tied to Part B fee-for-service payments.

CMS notes that, while participants are encouraged to provide feedback on the proposed rule during these events, such feedback will not be considered formal comments on the rule. CMS will not provide a question and answer session during any of the events. More information is available on the CMS website
