CMS to Hold Call on California MAC Transition

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will hold a call July 23, 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. (PT), on transitioning to a new Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) for processing Medicare Part A and Part B fee-for-service claims in Jurisdiction E (JE), which includes California. According to CMS, the call will provide information for the Region IX area impacted by the transition from Palmetto GBA to Noridian Healthcare Solutions, which was awarded the MAC in January. Items for discussion include contract award and implementation timeline, dark days, early boarding, EDI enrollment, local coverage determinations, call center operations and single toll-free number, portal, RAC and provider enrollment. The call will also include a Q&A session.

To participate July 23, call (877) 267-1577 and use ID 2001. Registration is not required. CMS asks participants, if several are in one location, to use one line and call approximately five minutes prior to start time to avoid delays.
