CMS Grants Quality Reporting Waivers Due to Wildfires

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is granting extraordinary circumstances exceptions under certain Medicare quality reporting and value-based purchasing programs to hospitals, skilled-nursing facilities, home health agencies, hospices, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, inpatient psychiatric facilities, renal dialysis facilities, long-term care hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, and Merit Based Incentive Payment System eligible clinicians, located in areas affected by the California wildfires.  

Providers and suppliers will be granted exceptions if they are in the following counties, which have been designated as emergency disaster areas by the Federal Emergency Management Agency: Butte, Lake, Lassen, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, Nevada, Plumas, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Sierra, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Trinity, Tulare, Tuolumne, Yolo, and Yuba.
