CMS Announces Final Innovation Awards

The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation announced today the second and final funding opportunity for Health Care Innovation Awards. The awards support innovative projects nationwide designed to deliver high-quality medical care, enhance the health care workforce and lower costs through continuous improvement. Including the awards announced last month, the Innovation Center will fund 107 projects that represent health care innovators from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, targeting issues ranging from patient-centered cancer treatment to improved access utilizing technology to reach rural and underserved communities. Several awards were made to California health care innovators. A list is available at×263z. The Innovation Center received nearly 3,000 applications, representing tens of thousands of individuals and partnering organizations that underwent a highly competitive selection process.
