CHFFA to Hold Meetings on Mental Health Crisis Services Grants

The California Health Facilities Financing Authority (CHFFA) has scheduled a series of public forums throughout the state to provide information about the Investment in Mental Health Wellness Act of 2013 and its corresponding $142 million grant program. Meetings, which will also solicit public comments about the program, will be held in Sacramento, Oakland, Santa Ana and Fresno.

The Investment in Mental Health Wellness Act of 2013 established a new statewide grant program for California counties, nonprofit partners and public agencies to develop community-based mental health crisis support programs. Administered by CHFFA, the grant funds are intended to increase capacity for crisis intervention, crisis stabilization, crisis residential treatment, rehabilitative mental health services and mobile crisis support teams, and will support capital improvement, expansion and limited start-up costs.
