CHA Submits Comments on Sterile Compounding Regulations

CHA continues to participate in the regulatory review of sterile compounding regulations as a result of SB 294. Passed in 2014, the new law requires the Board of Pharmacy to adopt regulations that implement provisions licensing hospitals as sterile compounding pharmacies. CHA submitted extensive comments to the board in January and July of 2014, as well as March of this year. At its April meeting, the board submitted a “decision not to proceed,” initiating a new rulemaking comment period from May 8 – June 22. CHA has submitted comments for the new rulemaking period and will keep members informed of progress on the regulations through CHA News.
