CHA Publishes 2018 Report on Legislation
Includes new laws that impact hospitals in 2019

CHA has finalized the 2018 Report on Legislation, summarizing important state health care legislation enacted during the second year of the 2017-18 legislative session. Developed to help hospitals understand the implications of the year’s significant bills, the report also serves as a reference tool for the broad range of legislative activity that occurred this session.

Statutory changes become effective Jan. 1, 2019, unless otherwise noted. Each measure is categorized by subject and indicates which hospital team members should take necessary steps to come into compliance (see legend at bottom of each page). In addition, the laws are indexed by author, bill number and staff role. A PDF of the report is available for members at www.calhospital.org/2018-report-legislation and includes links in the table of contents and indexes to help readers navigate. Each bill number is linked to the relevant text from http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov; to view the bill text, simply click the bill number preceding each description. To request printed copies, email info@calhospital.org.
