CHA Public Advocacy Program Launches 2012 Patient Safety Campaign

CHA’s Public Advocacy Program has launched its 2012 ”Caring is our Calling” campaign to positively position hospitals and highlight the advances they are making to improve patient safety and quality. The campaign features three clinical topics and hospital case studies on reducing C. difficile infections, advancing medication safety and improving surgical safety.

To showcase hospital improvements, CHA has redesigned and updated its Public Advocacy Program website at www.CaringisourCalling.org. The website features the three clinical topics and includes issue briefs with hospital case studies from around the state that provide specific examples of quality improvement. The site also features last year’s patient safety campaign topics, including reducing sepsis and patient falls, eliminating pressure ulcers and central-line blood stream infections. In addition, the outstanding work of hospital volunteers is featured.

Members are encouraged to support the new statewide patient safety campaign and program website by cross-linking with CaringisourCalling.org. To cross-link websites, please go to www.caringisourcalling.org/link-us and download the new CaringisourCalling ‘badge.’ To provide additional clinical topic case studies, please contact Tracy Campbell, vice president of public advocacy, at (916) 552-7594 or tcampbell@calhospital.org.
