CHA to Participate in Covered California Workgroup to Discuss Final Revisions to Model Contract
Covered California webinar tomorrow will present final revisions

CHA will participate in a workgroup convened by Covered California tomorrow to discuss the final revisions to the exchange’s qualified health plan (QHP) model contract. Covered California is conducting the workgroup in response to the attached April 23 joint letter from CHA, the California Association of Health Plans and the California Medical Association, requesting sufficient time for continued discussions about the model contract. Also tomorrow, Covered California will present final revisions to the QHP model contract in a webinar, open to all stakeholders, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. (PT). Covered California staff will respond to questions about issues related to the contract — including performance requirements, health savings account plans that will be allowed, data submission requests and reports and stakeholder comments— in response to the April 22 version of the model contract (CHA’s comments to that version are also attached).

To register for tomorrow’s webinar, visit https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/6821047232238277888. A copy of the latest model contract is scheduled to be posted by close of business today at www.healthexchange.ca.gov/Solicitations/Pages/QHPSolicitation.aspx

The Covered California Board of Directors is scheduled to approve the model contract during a special meeting on May 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information about the May 7 board meeting, including location and agenda, visit www.healthexchange.ca.gov/BoardMeetings/Pages/Default.aspx.
