CHA Members Make Their Voices Heard in Washington, D.C.

This week, executives from CHA member hospitals met in nearly 50 federal lawmakers’ offices on Capitol Hill as part of the annual California Congressional Action Program (CCAP). Representing the full spectrum of providers — from large health systems to rural, independent hospitals — more than 50 members advocated for maintaining access to health care coverage. In the meetings, CHA members also urged their representatives to restore Medicare and Medi-Cal DSH cuts that have been devastating for many California hospitals and health systems and reduce regulatory burdens that divert limited resources from patient care.

“The hospital leaders who came for CCAP this year were powerful messengers as they conveyed CHA’s top priorities to elected representatives. I am grateful to each of them for making the trip to Washington, D.C., to share their hospitals’ stories and protect access to care for all Californians,” said Anne O’Rourke, CHA senior vice president, federal relations.
