CHA Member Honored as Finalist for National Award

The American Hospital Association has announced that Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, a CHA member hospital, has been honored as a finalist for the prestigious national Foster G. McGaw Prize for Excellence in Community Service. Queen of the Valley received a $10,000 prize in recognition of its efforts to extend its role far beyond the traditional medical model and dedicating itself to serve as a catalyst in promoting and safeguarding the health of its community.

“The Foster McGaw Prize is one of the highest honors available for hospitals that have shown exemplary commitment to addressing community health problems,” said CHA CEO/President C. Duane Dauner. “We congratulate everyone at Queen of the Valley Medical Center for this national recognition and their outstanding work.”

AHA’s Foster G. McGaw Prize, first awarded in 1986, inspires hospitals, health systems and communities to assess and implement programs that improve their communities. For more information, visit www.aha.org/foster.
